Meet Cathy Corbett, Realtor®
Principal Broker
Cathy moved to the Rough River area in 2003 with her husband, who is from the area and had always planned to return in retirement. In the fall of 2003, they purchased their home and 15 waterfront acres high atop a bluff overlooking Rough River Lake, at what is now known as Patriots Pointe. (You'll know Patriots Pointe when you see it! You can't miss the 110' flag pole and the HUGE American flag that flies over Rough River Lake!)
In mid-2004, Cathy and her husband retired from full-time travel with their consulting firm and started up their land development and custom home building company, Patriots Pointe Properties.
In the fall of 2004 they opened their first two waterfront developments at Patriots Pointe (The Cliffs & The Ledges). This put the wheels in motion for them to open Patriots Landing, the first gated community on Rough River Lake.
Since 2004 they have opened 5 new lakefront and residential/equestrian developments, most of them along Hwy. 79 just north of the Rough River dam.
Patriot Shores, their newest development is accessed off Hwy 259.

Cathy started her career in the nuclear power industry. She worked there for over 20 years while raising 4 children, putting most of them through college and completing an advanced degree herself. Once her kids were grown and gone she spent 10 years as a partner in a consulting firm doing accident investigations for high risk industries all across the US and abroad. Fascinating work, but long weeks of travel away from friends and family led her to look for something in retirement that would keep her closer to family and home.
She received her real estate license in 2005 and joined the Coldwell Banker Realty Group in Owensboro under Jim Estes, who is the principal broker for the firm.
In 2006, her first full year working in real estate at Rough River, she earned the Coldwell Banker Office Manager's Award for Excellence and a Team production award for sales with her daughter Kate Acia of $4,000,000.
For 2007, she was awarded the Coldwell Banker Diamond Society Award by Jim Gillespie, the CEO of Coldwell Banker. This award places her in the top 9% of Coldwell Banker agents internationally.
In early 2009 Cathy completed the requirements for her Broker's license.
Cathy is now the Principal Broker of the branch office that she started in 2005. The office is now called Greater ROUGH RIVER REALTY GROUP and is located in the same spot on Hwy 259 near the new Dollar General Store in McDaniels, KY.
Cathy continues to actively list/sell property as well. She is a member of the Louisville Board of Realtors, and both the KAR and NAR (KY and National Association of Realtors).
